The collector of this unbelievalbe tribut piece is Mark Zabel; a career firefighter for twenty two years for Woodinville Fire in Woodinville, Washington which is located approximately twenty miles northeast of Seattle.

"I work at Station 35 which houses Engine, Aid and Medic 35. In November, three coworkers and I traveled to New York to attend the funerals of Firefighter Eric Olsen of Ladder 15 in Manhattan and Firefighter Salvatore Calabro of Ladder 101 in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Being at the WTC site was an experience that words simply cannot describe. Standing on the roof of 10 house and looking at the devastation was something I will never forget. I wish every American could see, smell and feel, in person, what we witnessed.

After the attacks, I had decided to get the flag portion of the tattoo. I wanted it to be a very detailed piece and began my search for an artist that is capable of this level of work. I was very fortunate to find Aaron Bell. He and his wife own Slave To the Needle in Seattle . He is an amazing artist. His ability to create three dimensional images on skin is better than anyone I've ever seen. He worked on the art for three or four weeks and on 20 November, after flying through the night to get back from New York, I spent five hours in his studio in which the flag portion was completed.

While I was in New York, every fire station was selling their own t-shirts to raise money for the survivors. While each shirt was unique, every one of them had the words 'Never Forget' on it. I decided to add these words beneath the flag in remembrance of those lost."
